If you’re moving to Wichita, KS you should know there are more places to shop than you might initially think. It’s becoming a hip place with a cool vibe. You can get/rent an electric scooter and roam the town or travel via public transit. There are a lot of sporting events throughout the year and several venue that host great entertainment. There’s a good sized highway that runs right through it, which makes it easy to access and harder to get lost.

Wichita is a busting growing city with a large overall area. The population currently sits at roughly 350,000, with plenty of room to continue growing. Whether it’s Wichita being the air capital that brings you in, or the uplifting atmosphere; there’s surely a piece of home for everyone to find.

Many residents are Catholic and the Wichita Diocese is nationally recognized for their stewardship model. Because of stewardship, the youth are able to obtain a Catholic education from kindergarten all the way through high school with minimal cost to the families. In addition, there are many charities that serve the Wichita community spearheaded by the Diocese such as the Lord’s Diner.

Wichita is a big city, but small enough to get around easily by car. Most places can be reached within twenty minutes of driving. There are lots of activities to engage in, from events for children to the elderly. Even the schools are thought to be of high quality. It’s a great place to live and raise a family.

Wichita is my city. It is a big and beautiful city all kinds of people live here. It is famous for so many things. Wichita is the Air Capital of the World. Wichita is the birthplace of Pizza Hut and White Castle fast food chains. There is a lot of history that has been created in a great city called Wichita.

When airplanes were in their early days, innovators like Clyde Cessna, Lloyd Stearman, and Walter Beech began to develop their own airplanes. These men went off to start and contribute to well known companies today like Cessna and Beechcraft (a part of Textron Aviation) and Boeing. As time progressed from the early 1900’s into World War 2, production began to ramp up. The B-29 was made en masse in Wichita with some 2,700 being made through the duration of the war. In addition to producing large bombers, Beech made planes that were used to train bombardiers and navigators. After the war, Wichita had really established itself as a superpower in aircraft production as it was dubbed the “Air Capital of the World”.

In terms of prices, the cost of living is very low in Wichita. Some people are able to find places to rent for as low as $300 a month per person. Although wages are lower on average than other places in the nation, the very low cost of living more than makes up for it. Wichita State offers arguably the most value for the money than any college in the state. Tuition, before the generous scholarships that are given, runs about $10,000 a year. So without any scholarships, a four year degree would only cost $40,000.

Wichita is home to many schools including Friends University, Newman University, WSU Tech, and Wichita State University. Wichita State has a basketball team that has made many NCAA tournament appearances and even a Final Four appearance in recent years. WSU also is home to NIAR, which is one of the nation’s leading research institutes for the aviation industry. Recently, NIAR has partnered with the army to reverse engineer older legacy aircraft to get them back in the air.

There is a remarkably active community theatre program in Wichita, despite the small size. I would also highly recommend checking the local music scene, as it is one of the most active and friendly scenes in the nation. The local parks and library are excellent and well-maintained, but one does have to be careful regarding the amount of road construction, especially since public transportation is all but non-existent.

Wichita, Kansas, is the “Air Capital.” We are known for our many plane makers, such as: Spirit Aerosystems, Textron Aviation, and Learjet, to name a few. Wichita also has one of the two last in flight B-29 Superfortress, Doc. being in Kansas, we are also known for our weather. Kansas tends to have crazy weather, most commonly tornadoes.

Wichita is a beautiful city with a unique history and a diverse population. It offers everything that a big city does but in a very laid back manner. Wichita State University, one of the biggest in the state, is in Wichita. I would welcome you to come and stay at Wichita, the birthplace of Pizza Hut.

Wichita, Kansas, started off very small in the late 1800’s and would later turn into a strong city supporting our national security. Many come to know Wichita just by eating at a few restaurants. Pizza Hut, White Castle, and Freddy’s all started in Wichita. Besides the well-known chains, Wichita has so many restaurants that is normally ranked as having one of the highest restaurant per capita in America.
