The city is beautiful beyond expectations, with it’s beautiful Beaches, and rich heritage. The food of Kerala though, some may find it a bit too spicy is incredibly delicious, So missing out on the sea-food platter, Kochi’s special next time you are their will be a shame. However. you must be cautious of he high temperatures during Summer. And during Monsoon beware of Mosquitoes.

If you’re new to Kochi or are moving here. Here are some things you need to keep in mind:
1. It rains a lot here, so always remember to carry an umbrella with yourself whenever leaving the house.
2. If you’re a non-Keralite you might face some language issues. It’s always safe to talk in English with the locals instead of Hindi as they might misinterpret you.
3. Most people in Kerala are non-vegetarians and even eat beef, so if you’re an orthodox Hindu your preference should be to eat only at pure vegetarian restaurants.
4. Protests or ‘hartals’ as the locals call it are really a common sight here.
5. If you’re not a south Indian, I’d suggest you to better learn to wear a dhoti as a lot of temples here don’t allow entry of men if you’re not wearing one.
6. Never ever take a KSRTC bus as the drivers of these are really famous for fast and reckless driving instead take a metro or call an Uber.

you will have an issue with the water available here, and you will find a lot of mosquitos biting you all the time but it’s a great city. There are a lot of great places. The weather is usually okay, except sometimes you can predict heavy rains. You should visit.

Know to speak Malayalam or at least English fluently. If the place he/she’s looking for, is outside the main city area then knowing about the transportation facilities would be better. It’s important to carry an umbrella with you always. Kochi’s a nice tourist place and not to mention, comfortable with all the facilities.

I am from Kochi, Kerala-God’s own country. I must say it is a place of beauty and greenery. But the monsoon is very harsh and continues for more than two months so if someone is willing to move to my city, they should be aware of the damp climate and no sunshine days for this period.

If you are a foreigner, you should take into consideration the weather here at this time which is the monsoon season with plenty of rains and coolness. Don’t forget to pack in your umbrella. The food in Kerala is mostly spicy but you can enjoy dishes with less spices at your request. Otherwise for anyone coming to KERALA it’s a gastronomic delight with a very large variety of both vegetarian and non vegetarian fares. It’s very beautiful and green in this southernmost part of India and people are welcoming and courteous. Rentals are available of all ranges and law and order is good to have a safe stay.

Someone moving to Kochi should know some basic Malayalam words and the climate here is mostly humid. November to January will be the best time to visit our city. May to September will be our monsoon, so try to avoid the visit to Kochi during these months.

The weather in my city is tropical and being near the seashore, it mostly humid. But considering other towns in the country, Cochin by far seems to be the best among them. It’s known as God’s own country.

Kochi is the finance capital of Kerala. Metro was introduced a couple of years back. It has been a port since 1341, when a flood carved out its harbor and opened it to Arab, Chinese and European merchants. Kochi is the financial, commercial and industrial capital of Kerala Kochi has been hosting India’s first art biennale, the Kochi-Muziris Biennale, since 2012, which attracts international artists and tourists.

The Queen of Arabian Sea’, Cochin, is the best option to settle down in Kerala. Other than being the fastest growing city in the state, Cochin is also rich in history and culture. People from different parts of India adds on to the diversity. Cochin is a centrally located city, with an easy access to the backwaters and hills, giving you plenty of weekend getaway options. The only adjustable factor is the humidity and heat, Cochin being a coastal city.
