Dumaguete is known to be the City of Gentle People. The locals are very accommodating, generous and friendly. Moreover, it is the best place to retire. You have easy access to malls, restaurants, bars etc. If you want to relax, you can just take a five to 15-minute drive to reach the warmth of the sea breeze.

If someone is going to move to my city they must consider their living expenses like how much is their budget and what kind of hotels or houses their looking for. They must know how to speak the dialect or at least can speak English. And lastly, they must check our city’s weather and safety.

Dumaguete city is a small city which has a little bit of everything. When moving here, you should consider the weather. Most times, the days will be warm and some of the days will be a little rainy. You should also consider bringing your best swimsuits and trek outfits, since the city is near the beach and a 30-minute motor drive to the Oriental mountains.

He should know my city is called the “City of Gentle People” and now it’s also known as the “City of Motorcycles.” People here are very hospitable, especially to a guest. You don’t get to go home without a bag of goodies or as we call “bring house.” He should also know that Dumaguete seldom rains. It’s mostly sunny.
