If you’re moving to Wichita, KS you should know there are more places to shop than you might initially think. It’s becoming a hip place with a cool vibe. You can get/rent an electric scooter and roam the town or travel via public transit. There are a lot of sporting events throughout the year and several venue that host great entertainment. There’s a good sized highway that runs right through it, which makes it easy to access and harder to get lost.

When airplanes were in their early days, innovators like Clyde Cessna, Lloyd Stearman, and Walter Beech began to develop their own airplanes. These men went off to start and contribute to well known companies today like Cessna and Beechcraft (a part of Textron Aviation) and Boeing. As time progressed from the early 1900’s into World War 2, production began to ramp up. The B-29 was made en masse in Wichita with some 2,700 being made through the duration of the war. In addition to producing large bombers, Beech made planes that were used to train bombardiers and navigators. After the war, Wichita had really established itself as a superpower in aircraft production as it was dubbed the “Air Capital of the World”.

There is a remarkably active community theatre program in Wichita, despite the small size. I would also highly recommend checking the local music scene, as it is one of the most active and friendly scenes in the nation. The local parks and library are excellent and well-maintained, but one does have to be careful regarding the amount of road construction, especially since public transportation is all but non-existent.
