There are many roads, apartments, and stores that work together to create a cacophony of people talking, cars honking, and children crying. I find Surrey lacks the greenery, serenity, and liveliness of the countryside.

Surrey is the next downtown of Vancouver, British Columbia (BC). Buying a house in Surrey is much more affordable than Vancouver, however, there are things to look out for. The crime rate is high and transportation to go around isn’t as great as transportation in Vancouver, BC. if you are looking for a place, depending on what your preference/priority is on choosing your home, it will affect your decision in finding a place in. If price is important, Surrey would be a good place in. If safety and good transportation is important, Vancouver or a city closer to Vancouver would be better.

Surrey is a busy town with very poorly designed roads and intersections. Because of this, one can expect to encounter what I call ‘pop-up traffic jams’ on a regular basis. Due to the proliferation of poorly designed left hand turn lanes, improperly timed traffic lights and the like, traffic will regularly become tangled up even when general volume is quite low.

Folks moving to Surrey should know public transit here is not great. Surrey is a mix of urban, suburban and rural, but the urban parts are very small. Surrey’s is large geographically but the population density is low in most places. This makes it hard to have a robust public transit system that works for everyone.

Surrey, BC, is a sprawling, suburban city. It is on the West Coast of Canada and is very welcoming to people of all backgrounds, religions and political views. The prices of rentals are substantially less pricey than in nearby Vancouver. This being said, however, purchasing your own real estate is becoming similar in price between the two. There are plenty of things to do here that nature and family friendly. If you’re interested in trying a wide variety of ethnically influenced cuisines, there is something for every palette and preference. I have found it fairly easy to get around by means of public transportation which is always expanding and fairly reliable. It is a quickly expanding city with many opportunities in employment and housing for a variety of needs.

Surrey is one of the affordable cities in Metro Vancouver. We have beautiful parks, easy access to our transit system that will take you to Downtown Vancouver; we also offer a variety of cuisines to enjoy. Although Surrey is a beautiful city with a lot of cultures, our crime rate in the province is quite large.
