If someone were to move to Saint Louis, he or she should know that, though officially a city, Saint Louis does not have the same vibes as such large cities as Chicago or New York. By this, I mean to say, Saint Louis’ personality is closer to that of a very large town. She is a quiet city, with little noise and traffic; she defies the expectations that her towering skyline inspires within first time visitors. All this changes, though, come Mardi Gras weekend.

Saint Louis is a nice city to live especially for families. There’s lots of parks and historical places to visit. My favorite place to visit is our local zoo, which has free admission. During the summer time there’s food trucks in the park every Friday. The summers are hot and in the winter it can get very cold.

Saint Louis does not have a broad public transportation system. Therefore, be mindful if you do not have a driver’s license, a vehicle, or if you are intimidated by walking on nearly non-existent sidewalks. My city is also infamously rated as a top city for violent crime, and there are shootings regularly.

St. Louis, an overlooked city, is up and coming. People looking in from an outside perspective may not see much, but anyone moving here should know St. Louis has endless options for adventurers and foodies. The best Asian cuisine is on Olive Boulevard. The best burger’s are downtown. The city garners the interest of many musical artists who travel to places such as the Scottrade Center to perform. Free concerts are even available such as during the Fourth of July at Forest Park. Even free movies are a hit with food trucks to assist at Art Hill during summer. Nonetheless, St. Louis has grown and continues to progress as a city. St. Louis isn’t a busted town. It has so much to offer.

Saint Louis is a city in the Midwest, right in the middle of the United States. It is a large city with a thriving with enthusiastic sports fans that love baseball and hockey. The only negative aspect of Saint Louis is the lack of an efficient public transportation system.
