Someone who is considering moving to my town should know that it’s perfectly located. It’s a border town, about an hour southeast of San Diego. It’s situated in the middle of Tijuana and Mexicali, important cities in the state. An hour and a half south, Ensenada is by the ocean. They should also know it’s not a big city, hence why I used the term town. The “colonias” are near each other, but given it’s Northern Mexico, a car is ideal to move around from one end of town to another.

Tecate is a small town at the northern Mexican border with the United States. Its location is somehow privileged, as it is 30 km East from Baja California’s biggest and busiest city, Tijuana, and 50 km South from San Diego, California. This small city maintains its small town charm, while still being accessible to big city attractions. The main economic activities are the manufacturing and food industry, however, many people commute to Tijuana or San Diego daily to work there. Because of its desertic weather, summers are hot and dry, while winters are cold and more humid, where in wome winters one can enjoy of light snowfall. Altogether, my town is a liveable city, easy to get around and get to places, with a supportive and friendly community.
