Sacramento and the outskirt towns have become more and more populated, largely because people from the San Francisco Bay Area have been moving up here in droves. Unfortunately, this has driven up the crime rate, the price of housing and the formation of a huge homeless population that is not being addressed effectively by the counties or the State. Sadly, even areas that used to be considered safe and elite are affected by these changes. If there’s anything positive to say about living here, it would be that the housing prices and cost of living are still less than the Bay Area. Access to Tahoe and the foothills still remains good, so it is easy to get out of town to venture into the countryside of various areas. But unless you are wealthy the quality of life has gone down and is not pleasant anymore for the average citizen who has to struggle to work to make ends meet.

Cost of living: Sacramento’s cost of living is relatively high compared to the national average. The cost of housing, in particular, is on the higher side. So, you should be prepared for this if you are planning on moving here.

Weather: Sacramento has a Mediterranean climate with hot and dry summers, and mild and wet winters. During the summer months, temperatures can reach above 100 degrees Fahrenheit, so you will want to be prepared for the heat.

Transportation: Sacramento has a public transportation system, including buses, light rail, and Amtrak trains. However, the city is also quite spread out, so having a car may be necessary.

Job Market: Sacramento has a diverse economy, with major industries including healthcare, government, education, and technology. The job market is generally good, but as with any city, it can depend on the industry and your specific skill set.

Outdoor Activities: Sacramento is home to a variety of outdoor activities, including hiking, biking, and water sports. The city is situated near several lakes and rivers, as well as the Sierra Nevada Mountains.

Culture and Entertainment: Sacramento has a rich cultural scene, with museums, theaters, and galleries throughout the city. There are also many festivals and events throughout the year, including the California State Fair and the Sacramento Music Festival.

Overall, Sacramento is a vibrant and diverse city with much to offer. It’s important to do your research before moving to any new place, but if you are prepared for the cost of living and the weather, you will likely enjoy your time in Sacramento.
