It is a soulful city, one that may be not the most populous, the prettiest or extravagant; but one whose streets make you feel like you are not a stranger, even though you might be visiting for the first time. Sarajevo takes you in. Its history, its urban fabric, people, and streets, their resilience will surely make you leave wanting more.

Sarajevo is the capital of Bosnia and Herzegovina. The primary language spoken in the city is Bosnian. While many people in the city speak English, and fluency in Bosnian is not vital, it is helpful to have an understanding of the Bosnian language. Additionally, Sarajevo has an interesting history, as it is often considered the location for the spark that started World War 1.

Be aware of the great food. You will most likely gain weight by moving here. people are pretty nice, but don’t take advantage of that. And try acting local, because that can sometimes give you discounts. Also, we don’t do park picnics. Sarajevo is a city unlike any other, meaning we do not have Starbucks.

Sarajevo is a multicultural city, which offers visitors and residents much to explore. In Sarajevo, you have the opportunity to see the legacy of different cultures and the empires. This includes both the Ottoman and Austro-Hungarian Empires. Sarajevo also offers great food, entertainment and plenty of opportunities for nature lovers.
