Kochi is a metropolitan city. One should be ready to adjust with all cultures. Living expenses are high, so budget planning is important. It is a beautiful place, with a good community. Traffic would take your time often during the peak hours, so we must consider that when you go to job. There are many restaurants and apartments around this area. It is safe here.

If you’re new to Kochi or are moving here. Here are some things you need to keep in mind:
1. It rains a lot here, so always remember to carry an umbrella with yourself whenever leaving the house.
2. If you’re a non-Keralite you might face some language issues. It’s always safe to talk in English with the locals instead of Hindi as they might misinterpret you.
3. Most people in Kerala are non-vegetarians and even eat beef, so if you’re an orthodox Hindu your preference should be to eat only at pure vegetarian restaurants.
4. Protests or ‘hartals’ as the locals call it are really a common sight here.
5. If you’re not a south Indian, I’d suggest you to better learn to wear a dhoti as a lot of temples here don’t allow entry of men if you’re not wearing one.
6. Never ever take a KSRTC bus as the drivers of these are really famous for fast and reckless driving instead take a metro or call an Uber.

If you are a foreigner, you should take into consideration the weather here at this time which is the monsoon season with plenty of rains and coolness. Don’t forget to pack in your umbrella. The food in Kerala is mostly spicy but you can enjoy dishes with less spices at your request. Otherwise for anyone coming to KERALA it’s a gastronomic delight with a very large variety of both vegetarian and non vegetarian fares. It’s very beautiful and green in this southernmost part of India and people are welcoming and courteous. Rentals are available of all ranges and law and order is good to have a safe stay.

Kochi was the central point of a historic spice route that grabbed the attention of famous explorers such as Vasco Da Gama. This shares a lot of ancient temples, architecture, cuisine and communities. Different places to visit in Ernakulam are: Princess Street, Hill Palace, Folklore Museum, David Hall Art Gallery, Cherai Beach, Thattekkad Bird Sanctuary, Muziris Biennale etc.

Kochi being the historic town that it is famous for has always attracted many people, even from the west, when there was no proper means of transportation. This quiet place is the best option you can look for, if you are planning to settle down. You will have everything within a walkable distance. From parks, beaches, post offices, stores, restaurants and schools to transportation. This will be a choice you will never regret!

Kochi, Kerala, is said to be the metropolitan city of God’s own country. people over here are very genuine and helping in nature. A person from anywhere in this world could adapt here easily in terms of food as there are many restaurants around the city famous for its culture. Also, one who is enthusiastic to travel seems to end in the right place, rich in its cultural heritage.
