Is Serampore, West Bengal a good place to live? How is the quality of life?

As a person who was born in Serampore and lived 20 years of his life here, I would say that living in Serampore has both its pros and cons. The town is blessed with the beautiful architecture from the Colonial Era which includes the Serampore College, Court-house, Danish Tavern and more buildings. The Ganga River flows beside the town making the land pretty much fertile for agriculture and adding up to the natural beauty of the town. The town being located so close to the State Capital of Kolkata, transport-communication, store for essential and non essential goods, jobs are plenty here. The only thing that appears to be a con is the climate of this place. This town experiences a tropical wet and dry climate which makes the town pretty much of hot humid throughout the year except for winter. putting this aside, this town is a fantastic place to settle.
