Is Buffalo, New York a good place to live? How is the quality of life?

Buffalo, New York, is a city that is on the rise, but those moving here ought to prepare for weather extremes. Although beautiful, conditions during Buffalo winters can change quite suddenly, where one is wearing light clothing in the morning, and by afternoon must wear a heavy coat, thick boots, and be prepared to shovel some serious snow. Summers come on suddenly, but with a dragging humidity that makes the somewhat mild heat occasionally intolerable without a great number of fans and glasses of ice water. However, these extremes are offset by that Buffalo is one of the most striking and beautiful places where one can experience Autumn, including a long and lovely viewing of the changing of the leaves, brisk yet comfortable temperatures, and a near-constant scent of smoky bonfires in the air. Spring, sadly, is nearly nonexistent.
