Asaba is a calm city, a little sedate. It is a beautiful place with well organised landscape. Everything that would make life easy and fun is available: malls, mega stores, fresh produce markets, restaurants, spas, banks, cinemas, bars, night clubs… whatever you could think of. The downside, however, is that it is an expensive city.

1. It’s a major turn-up place: the good people of Asaba can certainly turn up. Boasting several standard hotels and bars, it’s not uncommon to stroll into a joint in Asaba on a weekday and find it swinging with activity. If you have a fun weekend in mind, Asaba can fit the bill.
2. They’ve got good food (pepper soup anyone?): With River Niger just down the road, Asaba is not lacking in great seafood, so head on here for an assortment of very tasty seafood and lip smacking pepper soup.
3. It’s got gorgeous people: It’s a place that’s brimming with gorgeous folks. We certainly can’t complain.
4. It’s Nollywood’s de facto capital: A good majority of Nigerian movies are shot in Asaba and if you’re a Nollywood movie fan then it’s worth a shot for a chance to spot your favourite movie star.
