Of the many things someone considering moving to Winnipeg must know, perhaps the most important is the sheer range of temperature we experience here. One must be prepared to encounter temperatures ranging from 30 degrees below zero in the winter to extremes nearing 40 degrees celsius in the height of summer. Depending on when one arrives, it may seem like Winnipeg is a location where you may never experience comfort in recreating outdoors. Rest assured, however, that when autumn comes around you will come to understand the beauty of life in this prairie town.

Winnipeg is a fabulous city. It has a relatively low cost of living and has all of the benefits of living in a city without some of the drawbacks. There are plenty of opportunities for entertainment, NHL hockey, live theatre and music together with The Royal Winnipeg Ballet. Winnipeg has plenty of scenic views along two rivers and lots of outdoor spaces to enjoy time with friends and family.

Winnipeg is an underrated city that will pleasantly surprise anyone visiting for the first time. With many cultural backgrounds, the diversity is undeniable. The city also has a constant buzz of activity, stunning architecture and outdoor beauty. It’s worthy of so much more than just being known as “Winterpeg”.

Someone moving to Winnipeg should be prepared for cold weather. Winnipeg has a very volatile environment both when it comes to weather and culture. The city also has beautiful green space and two rivers that run within the city limits. There is a good school system, numerous dining options, and extremely friendly people.
