Speaking German would be helpful but not necessary. Cold winters, warm summers, nice people. Finding affordable nice accommodation may be difficult.

Nürnberg has a mid-age flair. the center of the town is very nice and lively. The town is divided by a river with very romantic scenes. The people there are friendly and open minded. Around Christmas time, there is a special Christmas market.

If you are moving to Nuremberg, you have to understand that the local Franconians are nice people, but somehow have it hard to relate with foreigners. Still you can start to approach them yourself, and they will react positively.
