To the east there is the Sierra Nevada Mountains, which are home to famous ski resorts, and is a popular winter destination of many Novatians. To the north of Novato there is Sonoma and Napa which are home to the state’s world-famous wine country. Within the town of Novato there are many hiking trails. One is trail is super steep at first, but when you stop to catch your breath, you look up and can see for miles. You can see the town, and other cities in the county, and if you stand in the right place you can see parts of the San Francisco Bay.

Novato has sun almost every day of the year, no humidity, rainy weather during the winter months, but not too much to get tired of it. Novato has everything a person could look for all in a drivable distance. Just 30 miles south is the San Francisco which offers Broadway theater productions, champion sports teams, and a multitude of amazing museums and landmarks. To the west of Novato is the Pt. Reyes National Seashore. There are many hikes with views of the Pacific with elk and cows on the hillside.
