If one is considering moving to Raleigh, North Carolina, they ought to think through what kind of weather they enjoy. If you’re used to snowy winters, they might be disappointed to learn that Raleigh rarely experiences snow and even more rarely does it stick to the ground. Blue skies are often overhead, which I find very comforting. And if a storm is brewing, one shouldn’t worry about it lasting longer than a few hours at the most. Sunshine and friendliness characteristically define our city.

Raleigh is a quickly expanding city, with lots of jobs in computer technology. It gets very hot and humid during summer, with frequent thunderstorms in the afternoons. Raleigh is known for its oak trees and at New Year’s a large acorn is dropped downtown instead of a typical New Year’s ball.
