New Orleans is a city filled with unique traditions and culture. Someone moving to New Orleans should be open to hot weather, loud music, and Mardi Gras parades. The population of the city is not indicative of the neighborly vibe a resident feels as he or she explores the city.

Metairie is a very old suburban town with charm. There are many restaurants that feature the popular cajun cuisine of New Orleans. Outdoor recreation is also accessible with many parks and levee trails. The levees connect the suburban area to Lake Pontchartrain, the largest lake in Louisiana. Our favorite weekend pastime is to grab seafood with friends and spend the evening looking out on the lake.

When moving to Metairie, some things that should be taken into consideration might be the weather and property value. In Metairie, there is a lot of rain which can contribute to some flooding issues. Property value is also very important to consider when moving to Metairie. The amount of property you can obtain for your money is not always the best deal.
