Quality of life in terms of economics parameters (i.e., inflation, median income, cost of living) has witnessed an increase in disparities. Well-developed museums, recreational areas, lanes for bicycles, etc. Beautiful area which has true four seasons. Property taxes quite high.

If you’re moving to Madison, you absolutely love the amazing variety and sheer number of bars and restaurants. There are so many live music concerts going on throughout the week and there is always something to do.

Madison is in the midwest, meaning it can be very cold in the winter and very warm in the summer. To many, this is a great selling point since residents can experience the best of both worlds! However, make sure you can tolerate the snow, ice and frigid temperatures before your big move.

Madison is the state capitol of Wisconsin, snug between two lakes, making the city an isthmus. The city is also home to a Big Ten school, the University of Wisconsin – Madison. Downtown can get quite lively when the students are on campus. Madison is an overall swell place.

The place in which I live is a college town, meaning that the majority of businesses and services cater to a young and educated base. The most popular area to which people go is State Street, which features numerous chic restaurants and stores. I live near this beloved street, where there is always something going on, including live music, college activities or opportunities to eat delicious and often foreign food. Madison, Wisconsin, is famous for its renowned university and hip, inclusive atmosphere.

I would strongly recommend visiting the Farmer’s Market during summer. There are plenty of delicious vegetables and baked goods for sale every weekend. Additionally, the Wisconsin State Capitol is worth paying a visit. The Capital can be seen from almost anywhere in the city, as it stands taller than any other building in the area.

Someone moving to Madison should know the city is near two lakes. There are also amazing bike paths throughout the city, for those who wish to not use public transportation, or own a vehicle. These two tie together nicely, as taking the bike paths can be a very scenic route to work, shopping, or a leisurely trip.
