Lexington, Kentucky might be one of the most unexpectedly positive places to move to in the Southeastern United States! It combines the charm and hospitality of the south with elements of midwestern and east coast culture. While Louisville is famous for the Kentucky Derby, Lexington is home to many horse farms, as well as the Keeneland race track which holds multiple events and races.

A college town (home to University of Kentucky) Lexington is highly, with corners of culture everywhere you look. Lexington is welcoming to immigrants, LGBTQ friendly, and fairly safe for a city of its size. It is also exceptionally close to Louisville, Cincinnati, Indianapolis and Nashville and a short flight away from New York City, Washington DC and Orlando.

You can catch the races, set up a tour, and take horseback riding lessons. Thousands of people flock to Lexington yearly to see this beautiful place. Lexington, KY is a very lively, diverse city. The entire area is intertwined with both nice and run-down properties. Near the city center, it is a bustling metropolis, but the further you get from downtown, the more rural it becomes. Most importantly, Lexington is well known for its many breweries, while its satellite towns – Georgetown, Frankfort, and Versailles, are all known for their bourbon distilleries.

Living in Lexington, Kentucky, is one of the best decisions one can make. Lexington is the horse capital of the world which means in the Spring and Fall, Keeneland meets are a must! Lexington is also a part of the work famous bourbon trail so going on a tour is required by any Kentucky resident.

Lexington, Kentucky, is a beautiful place with friendly people. I have heard people from three different States say that the houses here are notably beautiful. The cost of living is lower than many places in the US. Lexington is the Horse Capital of the world, the only place outside of Europe where the European Equestrian Games have ever been held.

Within minutes of downtown, one can be transported to the beautiful scenery of rolling hills, stone fences, and horses grazing on the famous “blue grass” of central Kentucky. The Lexington area is also known for its Bourbon Trail, where one can experience touring multiple bourbon distilleries while enjoying the beauty of the local horse farms.
