Ilonggos use buses and public utility vehicles, commonly known as jeepneys, to travel in long distances, and tricycles for short distances. Iloilo City is the city of love in the Philippines because Ilonggos are said to be loving and caring. Ilonggos also use the language Hiligaynon in communicating with their fellow Ilonggos only in the city because languages in the provinces are a little different.

If moving to Iloilo City, it is necessary to learn the local language, which is Ilonggo, to communicate better with the local folks. If you don’t know Ilonggo, it is also acceptable to use English or Tagalog, since most Ilonggos are multilingual.

Iloilo has also one of the best dishes you’ll ever tasted. Lapaz Batchoy and KBL (Kadyos-Baboy-Langka) is known as the best dishes by some of the tourists.
