Kottayam lies somewhat in the middle of the state, Kerala. Kerala is known as God’s own country’. It is blessed with an amazing range of flora and fauna.

Though my city is beautiful and clean, it doesn’t have cab service or online food delivery service. City is not a metro city. My city lacks network connectivity for many mobile network providers. Our water is pretty clean and safe. So far city is not in containment zone. City has even terrain.

Kottayam is a haven for city dwellers, who wants to have a touch of nature in their lives. The lush green vegetation with the cityscape, not to mention the historical importance, will leave you at awe. The people around are usually busy professionals, but are really helpful, nonetheless. But have a good knowledge of Malayalam, as natives don’t tend to speak other languages much.

Our city is famous for its beautiful landscape and hill stations. It is predominantly a Christian region with many famous churches that attract a lot of tourists yearly. The major source of income is through rubber plantations. Malayalam is the language used by the commons while a lot of the educated ones speak fluent English too.

Kottayam is a place that is known for extraordinary qualities. It is beautiful, has great views, fun things to do, parks, playgrounds historical sites. There are no distinct seasons in Kottayam, as it has a tropical climate like that of the rest of Kerala. Humidity is high and rises to about 90% during the rainy season.

Kottayam is a district with 100% literacy. It hosts some of the best educational institutes in Kerala. It is not a big city but offers all of life’s necessities. The people here are very friendly and co-operative. It is a beautiful city with a lot of greenery.

Kottayam is a beautiful city, nestled in the heartlands of the coastal state of Kerala. It has incredible sights and mouth watering bites. Mixing old traditions and innovations it a fascinating blend of mixed ethnicities and strong political ideologies. The perfect way to see what the city has to offer is a day spent bobbing down the backwaters in a houseboat eating fresh-caught fish listening to Bob Marley softly play in the background as you drift past walls plastered with Che Guevara and Jawaharlal Nehru.

This city has always kept its cultural identity at its height. Kottayam has good connectivity with other major cities of the state both through railways and road transport.

Someone moving to my city should know regarding the basic cost of living in this area and shopping facilities available in the area. he/she should be aware about the local languages used and preferably should possess basic driving skills also. If interested, it is better to possess a route map regarding the important places associated with the work that one possess, if related to a job.

Anyone who is interested in leading a peaceful suburban life is assured happiness here.
1. Kottayam city is not as lively with nightclubs and pubs as the other nearby cities. If you are the one interested in nightlife, rule out Kottayam.
2. Shopping in Kottayam will tear your pockets. The price for everything here is high compared to the nearby cities. Buy essentials from another place.
3. This is a place of lush vegetation and brimming wildlife. If you are interested in wildlife observation, bring along your tools.

Kerala, the state I reside in, is ‘God’s own country’. The people in Kottayam have hearts of gold which is extremely necessary in a society today. Anyone moving to Kottayam would find the process comfortable because of the wide range of services and facilities available here. However, unlike metropolitan cities like Kochi and Thiruvananthapuram, Kottayam does not have major food delivery services like Swiggy, Zomato, UberEats and the like.

Kottayam is an attractive tourist place for all, especially for foreigners. It is blessed with nature with its unique geographic features made up of hill stations, green valleys, rivers, etc, an evergreen attraction to the tourists.
