It is a city that is very spread out and you will need transport to move around and the traffic is so thick at rush hour and the weekend. As cost of living goes, it is a lot better than New York or Los Angels but you new a good income to live here. And lastly the people are not too friendly in the big cities of Texas, I don’t know my neighbors and I’ve never been in their houses and I have lived in my neighborhood for 8 years. The restaurants are great with many choices of cuisine.

Lots of attractions like Johnson Space Center. Diversity in the population. Texas friendly to all visitors. Residents do not pay state income tax.

Houston is a vast metropolitan area and has a heavily multicultural population: two facts that may be of interest to anyone moving here. The enormity of what Houstonians term the “greater Houston area” is one of the things that make this city so unique. One need not necessarily reside within its city limits to claim Houston as one’s hometown, and even if residing in one of its many outlying suburbs, one still can experience the benefits of living in such a thriving metropolitan area. These benefits include, but are certainly not limited to, a growing job market, a wealth of options for entertainment, opportunities for socialization and networking, and the multiculturalism that makes Houston such a broadening and progressive place. It is to Houston’s credit that it is a city where you can be a part of almost any minority group and still find yourself at home.

Anyone moving to Houston should be aware it is a very large city with varied options in regard to choices as to where. There are enclaves that envelope the very wealthy, and much quieter neighborhoods that include both middle class and poorer environs. There are areas in which one must be careful, but, in general, as long as one pays attention to where you are and the time of the day, most people are safe.

Houston is a culturally diverse and incredibly interesting city, albeit aesthetically underwhelming. There is a wealth of delicious restaurants to be found on nearly every block, as well an extensive amount of parks and green space to break up the monotony of gray concrete building sat every turn. Houston is a vibrant, unique, and exciting city; it is a remarkable place, with its mix of people and cultures all coming together to create an individually distinctive yet cohesive living experience.
