Thrissur was once the capital of the Kingdom of Cochin. It is 300 kilometres towards the north-west of the state capital Thiruvananthapuram. Thrissur is known as the Cultural Capital of Kerala because of its cultural, spiritual, and religious leanings throughout history. It houses the Kerala Sangeetha Nadaka Academy, Kerala Lalitha Kala Akademi, and Kerala Sahitya Academy.

Very good in literacy rate and is very well known for lower crime rate and helping mentality. Thrissur is land of poorams (festivals) where all the regional temples have festivals which include traditional dressing and elephants.

Thrissur is a city in the south Indian state of Kerala. It’s known for sacred sites and colorful festivals. In the center is Vadakkumnathan Temple, dedicated to Lord Shiva and adorned with murals. The ornate, Indo-Gothic Our Lady of Dolours Basilica is nearby. To the north, Thiruvambady Temple is home to several elephants. Sakthan Thampuran Palace houses an archaeology museum with bronze statues and ancient coins.

Thrissur is also called the cultural capital of Kerala because of its cultural and religious significance in history. The city is most famous for Pooram festival and is home to important temples. The first thing that comes to mind when I think about Thrissur is its culture.
