Liverpool has a wonderful historic reputation, firstly as an economically thriving seaport, and then as a cultural hub for art, music and poetry, but has had to face up to well publicized decline in the past 50 years. However, the cycle of renewal has started once more, as new businesses have invested in jobs, and new houses have been built in the suburbs. Liverpool is less than an hour’s journey away from Manchester, a city with a similar history and which is now a beta world city, and Liverpool residents also have the benefit of being close to the sea, and to many beautiful beaches. It is a great place to live.

Liverpool’s part in the Atlantic slave trade has contributed greatly to the wealth of the city. Many of its streets are named after slave traders, and, many buildings named after the produce collected by slaves. Some of which include; The Cotton Exchange, The Corn Exchange and Water Street.

Somebody moving to Liverpool would be pleasantly surprise by all the city has to offer. There are many wonderful places to spend time in the city centre and surrounding areas. Whether you prefer the quiet of the countryside or the bedlam of city nightlife, Liverpool can provide your required lifestyle. My city has a rich history and culture, good schools, friendly inhabitants, plenty of entertainment, and it’s cheap too.

In moving to Liverpool you should consider the weather, employment and the area. The better areas tend to be towards the city centre. I would avoid areas beyond Queens Drive which are more likely to be socially deprived and have worse transport links into the city. There are a lot of jobs in various industrial estates but the majority of white collar jobs are in the centre. Liverpool has a strong service industry and the people have a very cheery disposition.

Liverpool is friendly, also it was known as the capital of culture 2008. My city is the home of the Beatles, and home of a lot of history. It is famous for its two cathedrals and the liver building, it I also known for having one of the closest football rivals that can separate family’s Everton and Liverpool.

Liverpool is an incredibly diverse city. In 2008, Liverpool won the award for being culturally accepting. Liverpool has many events throughout the year, such as African Oye and Chinese new year celebrations in February. This city is well know for the Beatles, who were a extremely famous group of musicians. in Liverpool there is a very large Chinese community, and Chinatown is an enormous part of Liverpool’s history.

Liverpool is a fantastic city, full of vibrant nightlife and with a deep-rooted historical background. The people are always friendly and welcoming; you won’t struggle to find a helpful guide or friend at every corner. House prices are reasonable and the city centre is compact, meaning you can travel almost everywhere on foot, or, needs be, take the cheap and easy Merseyrail service – the Scouse version of the London Underground.
