Fredericksburg is a wonderful city. There is so much history in this place, you can find buildings from colonial times right next to modern infrastructure. You can be in the inner city and drive for ten minutes and be in the country which creates a small-town feeling that makes the place always feel like home. Between the scenery and the kind people I don’t know why anyone would want to live anywhere else.

Someone moving to Fredericksburg should know the area is steeped in American history, from before the American Revolution to present day. This could include some sensitive subjects, as the original slave block was recently removed from a downtown street and moved to a local museum. The area was also the home of George Washington as a boy and a travelling location due to the amazing Rappahannock River.

Fredericksburg, Virginia, is a diverse community, filled with people of various ages, ethnicities, and life experiences. The historic nature of the town, proximate to the Rappahannock River and a Civil War battlefield, gives it a charm unlike many others in America. It also features the childhood home of George Washington, Ferry Farm, and a museum dedicated to President James Monroe.

In moving to Fredericksburg, Virginia, a person should know it is a diverse, suburban community. Because it is just as far from Richmond, Virginia as it is from the nation’s capital, Fredericksburg is an attractive area for commuters to both hubs. Another attribute that makes this city appealing is its history with Civil War battlefields and historic architecture dotting the cityscape.
