Caloocan city is within National Capital Region. It is subdivided into North and South Caloocan. North Caloocan has bigger land mass than South Caloocan. All in all, Caloocan City has 168 Barangays and has approximately 1.6 million residents. Caloocan City is also famous as one of the historical places for the Katipuneros, which is symbolized by the Bonifacio Monument.

Caloocan is a historical city. It’s home to the famous Bonifacio Monument, which showcases Andres Bonifacio, one of the Philippines’ heroes, in his full glory. He is seen there holding a machete, shouting with all his might that his countrymen should fight the Spanish conquerors. Also, from here you could easily get to Quezon City which hosts a lot of shopping malls if you’d like to stroll around.

Our city is filled with good scenery and there are a lot of restaurants that you can choose from. The people are very welcoming and helpful. There are jeepneys which we are using as a mode of transportation since the Spanish colonization. There are also a selection of good food that you can only find in the Philippines, the popular ones are the street foods which has a lot of variety.

Caloocan is the largest city by land area in the National Capital Region, whose name originated from the word “lo-ok” meaning innermost area. Its history is also enriched by that a monument was erected there in honor of one of the country’s heroes, namely, Andres Bonifacio. You’ll be able to take a look at it closely when you take a drive in the place called Monumento.
