Henrico county covers a huge part of Virginia. It has some parts that make you feel like you’re in the city and some parts that make you feel like you are in the county. The neighborhood that I am in feels like you are right in the middle of both. I have easy access to the highway to get into the city quickly.

Henrico is new to me, but I would share with anyone curious about the area to expect decorated homes and green yards. Imagine the greenery of spring continuing into summer and never fading. Thus far, people have been polite whether walking the streets or passing me by in stores. This is an ideal area for someone who enjoys being near the city, but also enjoys the quiet.

Henrico is a county in Virginia surrounding the city of Richmond. Although Henrico and other nearby counties are politically and financially independent of Richmond, these are considered to be part of the Richmond metropolitan area. Richmond is rich with history and culture, although there are residual impacts of slavery and racism that continue to affect the city today. Henrico is a newer community north and east of Richmond City. Housing and businesses are more spread out in Henrico than in Richmond, and taxes are lower.

Someone moving to Henrico should know the city is about 30 minutes from Richmond. It is quite, full of trees. If you are someone who will be working outside the city and relies on a bus a form of transportation, life will be hard for you here because there are no bus lines that travel from here to nearby cities like Richmond.
