The town in which I live, Edwardsville, provides new transplants to the area with numerous amenities. It is fruitful to those that wish to improve themselves in the sense of academia, as it is home to Southern Illinois University Edwardsville, also known as SIUE. Residents new to the town can expect a multitude of restaurants to dine at, both chain and local, in addition to enjoyable places to visit like Altitude trampoline park and Edison’s entertainment center. The latter of which offers bowling, arcade games, laser tag, and commendable dining experiences.

Edwardsville is a city with about 20,000 residents in southern Illinois. It has a historic downtown with parks and businesses and newer subdivisions. Also, Historic Route 66 goes through the city. There is also a university called Southern Illinois University Edwardsville, or SIUE, with 14,000 students. Even though the city is large, it maintains a small-town feel; it’s not uncommon to see tractors driving through the streets and holding up traffic. Although rent can sometimes be high, Edwardsville is a safe place with a high-quality school district.
