Valdosta, Georgia, is a small, southern town located just minutes from the Georgia-Florida state line. Valdosta has been cleverly named “Titletown” due to the many championship titles the local high schools and colleges have won over time. Of those many titles, the majority of them are for football state championships, particularly by either of the two high schools in the area.

When Valdosta State’s college students return home for summer, Valdosta is a quiet and peaceful town. However, when students return for classes resuming in August, the bars, restaurants, and shops are filled with people. The roads become very busy and congested, and traffic is a nightmare. I enjoy living here, but sometimes, I wish it weren’t so full of young adults.

Valdosta, Georgia, is a quaint college town. There are a number of hidden gems worth visiting in town, including coffee shops, niche boutiques, and the campus of Valdosta State University. The city is close to the Florida border, and it could be easily overlooked from the interstate. Valdosta is a place worth visiting on your next Florida trip.
