Lexington, Kentucky might be one of the most unexpectedly positive places to move to in the Southeastern United States! It combines the charm and hospitality of the south with elements of midwestern and east coast culture. While Louisville is famous for the Kentucky Derby, Lexington is home to many horse farms, as well as the Keeneland race track which holds multiple events and races.

A college town (home to University of Kentucky) Lexington is highly, with corners of culture everywhere you look. Lexington is welcoming to immigrants, LGBTQ friendly, and fairly safe for a city of its size. It is also exceptionally close to Louisville, Cincinnati, Indianapolis and Nashville and a short flight away from New York City, Washington DC and Orlando.

A person considering a move to Lexington, Kentucky, should consider the following: industry and job opportunities, community events and citizenship, education, and demographics. The largest employers in Lexington include those in the horse industry, in education, and in business. The town has frequent events including a weekly Farmer’s market, a “Thursday Night Live” music show, a monthly Gallery Hop for local artists, and a thriving downtown. The school district, one of the largest in the state, receives high marks and produces students who are both college and career ready. Lexington has a lot to offer, and would be a welcome home for all.
