While a low cost of living might seem like a wonderful reason to relocate to Edmond, one should remember some of the downsides to life in Oklahoma. Tornadoes occur nearly yearly, and summers are very hot. Winters can be brutally cold, and the weather tends to change without warning. Adding to the environmental factors, the state is poorly operated both fiscally and socially. The “Oklahoma Standard” notwithstanding, I would choose a different place.

Edmond is just north of Oklahoma City. We have the advantage of being a small town with big town access. Because Edmond is home to the University of Central Oklahoma, we do have a diverse and artistic community.
