If you are moving to Las Vegas you must be prepared for four months of plus 100-degree heat. The rest of the year is pleasant although the winters are a little cool. There is a ski resort 45 minutes from the city. Las Vegas has some of the best restaurants in the world along with top-quality casino buffets. Las Vegas is only a five-hour drive from Los Angeles and seven National Parks. Housing is better than in urban/suburban California but is going up in price.

If you’re moving to Las Vegas, you will love the restaurant variety and good food. The weather is really hot (over 100) for about four months in the summer. It is chilly in the winter for about two months but no snow. Mark Walberg moved here for his kids and the wealthy people mostly live in Summerlin to the west of downtown and Henderson to the east. Las Vegas is a small town in big city clothes. While often pinned as a sprawling town full of entertainment and glam, Las Vegas is quite normal and downright boring when you become a resident. Take away all of the downtown bustle and you will see that it’s just like any other small desert suburb.

If you plan to move to Las Vegas, it’s vital to visit on vacation first just to get a feel of the family-friendly atmospheres and communities in the suburban areas, and beautiful tourist attractions surrounding the ever popular built-in adult playground downtown, known around the globe as the Vegas Strip.

Summerlin and Green Valley are two of the best neighborhoods in the Vegas area. However, the cost of living in these areas is on the more expensive side. Some of the areas where cheaper residences can be found are East Las Vegas, North Las Vegas, and downtown. I will be honest and say that living in what is a cheaper apartment in Las Vegas can come with neighbors who play music too loud and an insect problem.
