Our city has a lot things to say in our history, resources and cultures. Every cities have different morals, values, ethnicities and traditions. We are grateful to be the Tuna Capital in the Philippines and thank our fellow fishermen for bringing great catch of tuna. We are proud also to be called the “House of Champions” in which many great people represent our city in pageants, sports, singing and dancing contest.

General Santos is a relatively laid-back city of 500,000. It is a melting pot of traditions and culture in southern Mindanao. My first impression of the city was humid and dusty. However, I was taken aback by its stunning beaches, sprawling fishing industry, and scenic destinations in its periphery. Little known to tourists are the city’s delectable mix of traditional and street food. One simply cannot miss visiting the fishport complex, known for affordable and high-grade tuna, and taking a bite of the popular pastil.
