Colchester is Britain’s oldest recorded town and was the capital of England before London. Famous for the Castle and park. It’s beautiful surroundings are the perfect place for a picnic. If you have children they’ll love the huge play area and the abundance of tame squirrels that eat nuts out of your hand.

Colchester is Britain’s oldest recorded town. It is famous for the many historical sights in and around the town centre. The people are welcoming, sociable and friendly. A very diverse community exists within the town. The crime rate has increased within the last five years, but despite that, the statistics remain reasonably low compared to the other towns of England.

Colchester is Britain’s oldest recorded town and has some beautiful examples of Roman architecture. It is approximately sixty miles from London, the capital of the United Kingdom. It is easy to access London from here, either by train or car, which gives tourists plenty of options for interesting days out.
