Washington, DC, Northern Virginia & Baltimore, MD are within driving distance of Clarksburg, MD. We are in Montgomery County. We have safe, clean & beautiful neighborhoods with the best school system in the state. It is a quiet neighborhood. I moved here 3 years ago from Howard County where I lived for 30 years. I miss my old neighborhood but I have learned to love & many amenities this area offers.

Clarksburg is in one of the most beautiful areas of West Virginia. Visitors to the area will find numerous historical attractions, and a variety of cultural experiences. Clarksburg is known for being the birthplace of the famous Civil War general, Thomas “Stonewall” Jackson. Additionally, the West Fork River runs through the city and provides residents with scenic walking trails along the banks.

While Clarksburg used to be the largest city in central West Virginia, it has been eclipsed by neighboring Bridgeport. Many businesses have moved outside of the city limits. This erosion of the tax base has created financial issues. The city is actively working to attract new businesses and revitalize the downtown.
