Christchurch is an amazing city. Malls and parks are located within each suburb. The famous Christchurch Botanical Gardens is located in Hagley Park–approximately a five minute drive from the city centre. If you enjoy being close to nature, you will enjoy Christchurch!

Someone moving to Christchurch should know that we had an earthquake nearly 10 years ago. Although 10 years may seem long enough to have made good progress on recovery, in reality, some areas still feel as though the event happened quite recently. The continued disturbances to everyday life for many people within the city should be a real consideration for anyone thinking about moving here.

Christchurch is a city full of hope and potential. From the rubble of an earthquake springs forth new buildings and fresh dreams. We are known as the Garden City of New Zealand and for good reason: You can see green trees and beautiful flowers everywhere. This is a city for people who want to be a part of something special as this city rebuilds.

Christchurch is the third most populated city in New Zealand. After the big earthquake in 2011, the city started rebuilding and currently, Christchurch is booming in terms of real estate and tourism. It is known as the garden city of New Zealand.

If someone was to move to my city, I would advise them to choose the suburb they live in carefully, to be near their job. A lot of jobs are inland, towards the east, resulting in a long commute if you were to live on the other side of the city. Another piece of advice is that the land nearest the beach is cheaper than most of the city, as it can be very windy and exposed there.
