Blacksburg is a bucolic city with urban problems. The city faces gentrification, limited parking, gridlocked traffic, and a skyrocketing cost of living. Anyone moving to Blacksburg should consider seeking housing in a neighboring town, such as Christiansburg, Radford, or Newport. Residents frequently complain about Blacksburg landlords’ unscrupulous business practices.
