Great small town with major college – University of Georgia. Lots of things to do (music, food, bars, sports). Close enough to Atlanta if you want.

Athens is a very large college town centered around the University of Georgia. The downtown area and is the hub for students, locals, photographers, and so much more. There is a wide variety of restaurants and forms of entertainment, so there is always something to do.

Athens, GA, is an amazing, exciting college town. One might enjoy strolling the streets of downtown Athens, shopping in local businesses and frequenting bars. Adjacent to it is UGA, a beautiful campus filled with the bustle and hard work of students pursuing their passions. The character of Athens sets it apart from other cities, as it is home to the botanical gardens, the Tree that Owns Itself, the Broad River, and so much more.

Athens, Georgia, is a small college town whose very existence is due to the University of Georgia (UGA). UGA was established in 1785, and its history and renown is responsible for much of the town’s growth and prosperity. Athens is famous not only for its historic buildings and architecture, but also for supporting a thriving music scene, having been the birthplace of such bands as R.E.M. and the B-52’s. This small town combines southern charm with a youthful university atmosphere, making it a great place for both young families and enthusiastic football fans.
