Agoo is a coastal city. Most of its people are fisherfolks and they are supplying three other provinces. Some of the seafood that come from its rich sea are oyster, tuna, and tawilis. Tawilis is a known Ilocano delicacy for it is beng sun-dried to make daing, a local version of anchovy. The city celebrates Dinengdeng Festival every May to promote healthy diet and its cuisine. Dinengdeng is the name of the dish that originated from the city which is a mixture of bean stalk, jute, and squash stalk flavored with fish sauce. So, the next time you will visit my city, be sure that you will try its cuisine.
